Specifications:

This model of surgery / operating microscope is primarily used for ophthalmology and ophthalmic eye surgery. The main features of this surgical microscope are the motorization of the focusing controls and x-y location of field of view. The servo motors are foot controlled.

The main surgeon’s viewing head is binocular. The assistant’s (also called teaching) viewing head is also a binocular version. Neither of the heads are the type that can be tilted on a rotating angle as they are on a fixed angle. To tilt the heads, the doctor needs to tilt the complete head assembly. One motorized function locates the area of interest in the viewing optics by moving the whole head assembly on an X - Y grid. This motor centers the specimen in the field of view. The master surgeon’s binocular head has a five step magnification while the assistant’s binocular head has a three step magnification allowing different powers to be viewed. Neither of the heads have zoom optics, and the magnifications are independently manually selected. The independent fine focusing for the assistant’s microscope head allows the assistant to maintain the same sharp image as the main surgeon sees.

The lens is made from high quality imported German glass for reduction in lens aberration. All optics are multi-coated and include mildew proof and anti-reflection coatings. A useful option is an extra monocular teaching tube, allowing a third observer/assistant to view the surgery simultaneously. Another option is a beam splitter, ccd camera adapter, and ccd camera for taking the video image to a cctv monitor for all in the room to see, or for the surgery to be videotaped. In case of bulb failure during surgery, the microscope has a feature allowing fast switching to spare bulb. This surgical operating microscope is made in a US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) registered manufacturing facility as well as has CE certification.
